As a family-owned business, durlum is committed to leaving a livable and intact world for future generations. With this in mind, we actively support the concept of green building—sustainable construction practices that limit the impact on the environment. Our products, including metal ceilings, wall cladding, lighting, and daylight systems, meet the highest environmental standards and are ideal for modern, eco-friendly architecture.
Our products are particularly suited for buildings that adhere to the three globally recognized certification systems for sustainable construction:
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design): As one of the world’s most well-known certification systems from the U.S. Green Building Council, durlum played a key role in the first building in Germany to receive LEED "Gold" certification in 2008—the Süddeutscher Verlag Office Complex in Munich, equipped with durlum ceiling and lighting systems.
BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method): durlum’s metal raft ceiling elements were installed in the One Great Cumberland Place in London, which received the BREEAM "Excellent" certificate for its environmental performance.
DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council): The Areva Move II building complex in Erlangen, outfitted with durlum’s cooling and heating raft ceilings, achieved the prestigious DGNB "Gold" certification.
We are proud to assist in environmental planning for your projects and welcome inquiries to support your sustainable building needs.
