In a predestined location directly opposite the Südkreuz rail station in Berlin is the new German headquarters building of utility company Vattenfall. The impressive wood-hybrid structure provides space for about 1600 employees, with floorspace extending over 22,000 m².
This modern, light-permeated building is far more than just a visually appealing combination of certified wood and concrete. The DGNB, Germany’s Society for Sustainable Building, recently awarded it the title of Germany’s most sustainable building. For this concept, durlum supplied an appropriate ceiling solution.
Powder-coated in white, the dur-SOLO aluminium raft ceiling elements blend effortlessly into the interior design. In conjunction with the wood elements, this creates a modern and at the same time very appealing atmosphere. The perforated raft ceiling elements have a free cross section of 11 % and are lined with fleece, greatly enhancing the acoustics in the activity-based work areas. An altogether successful concept which has the sense of well-being of the employees at its heart.
