Green Building – Sustainable ceiling and lighting solutions

Everything that happens within durlum is founded upon an awareness of our responsibility towards the people who depend upon us, to society and to the environment. As an innovative and ecological company, we work with environmentally compatible processes and technologies, and we devise sustainable product solutions to make our contribution to Green Building.

For durlum, Green Building means that our products must contribute as much as possible tot he reduction of energy consumption in buildings. For example, our daylight systems and LED lighting solutions can save a great deal of energy compared to conventional lighting systems. Furthermore, the metal ceiling systems from durlum satisfy all the VOC emission requirements defined in Green Building Standards.

As an environmentally aware partner, durlum makes an active contribution with its products to the achievement of ecological building certifications. For example, we developed environmental product declarations, so-called EPDs, for all steel, aluminium and chilled/heated ceilings. These certificates can be used internationally and are visible on a day-by-day basis as verifications in Green Building.

durlum has been successfully certified according to the international environmental management standard ISO 14001 as well as energy management standard ISO 50001. In this way, we have systematized our environmental and energy management and have implemented a continuous process of improvement.
