A multi-faceted industrial base is the hallmark of the constantly growing Dutch town of Tilburg. A member of this community, located about 70 miles from Amsterdam, is elho, a market leading manufacturer of plant pots. For over 55 years, this family-based company has been pursuing the objective of incorporating the natural world into everyday life – in a sustainable and designoriented manner.
Work on the new administration unit building was completed one year ago. A ceiling solution from durlum was used in the entrance area, the meeting and training rooms and the company restaurant.
The arrangement of baffles in various directions enables the POLYLAM® ceiling design to create a geometrically stimulating atmosphere. Powder-coated in grey and white, and in conjunction with the modern interior appointment, a motivating and spacious sense of space is created, complemented by a large number of plants. The big gaps between the baffles reinforces the open character and the ceiling void also provides enough space to accommodate the installation of technical equipment.
A project in which sustainability and design were the guiding principles for both sides – and the result is certainly a great visual experience.
